Spurs clinch Highland Fuels Cup

Spurs have been crowned Highland Fuels champions for the fifth time in 6 years after a hard fought win over Celtic at Harbison Park. The Milkbags overcame their town rivals 1-0 with the solitary goal coming from second half substitute Sam Goudie with 15 minutes to go.

Celtic twice struck the bar in an even first half which also saw efforts from Josie Kay and Sam Maver well saved by Celtic goalkeeper Keane Haynes.

Just before the half time break, the Hoops lost their influential winger Ryan Wood to injury and fellow attacker Jamie Duffy was also forced off just after the restart.

Spurs looked the more dangerous team in the second half but were resorted to shots from distance before Goudie struck after 70 minutes.

With time running out, Celtic threw bodies forward but Spurs managed to hold on to their lead and Grant Wood accepted the first piece of silverware of the season.
